Eating In

Lakeview Cottage has a fully featured modern farmhouse kitchen for the whole family to enjoy cooking in. Naturally, you’ll want to gather some supplies and there are supermarkets nearby. However, Shropshire is a foodie’s heaven and we recommend stocking the fridge and cupboards with local produce from nearby farms!

Fordhall Farm
One of the first organic farms in England and undoubtedly one of the best. Local meat, veg and dairy can be purchased from the farm shop and it’s delicious! There’s also agricultural activities held there throughout the year.Battlefield 1403
Stocking produce from all over Shropshire, the Battlefield farm shop is your one-stop for veg, bread, meats, deli and locally produced treats like scrummy puddings and biscuits. There’s even a cafe next door, don’t resist, the cake and coffee are lovely!
Maynards
One of Rick Stein’s food heroes and it’s easy to understand why, once you’ve had a taste of the produce. Maynards farm shop stocks some of the best meat and breads in Shropshire.Cheshire Ice Cream Farm
Whilst it’s not one of your five-a-day, there’s no doubting the goodness of proper ice cream! Cheshire Ice Cream Farm make the best stuff in the business and there are over 25 flavours to choose from. Put a tub in the cottage freezer for those really hot days, you’ll be glad you did!
